Holi, the festival of color, is going to be celebrated on March 14 throughout India. With the festive mood still lingering, preparations are on at all homes. The festive vibe is incomplete without homemade traditional sweets such as gujiya and a glass of thandai. Most people mix bhang (marijuana) with their drink, but a high dose brings excessive intoxication, and people lose control of their senses. Bhang overdose leads to loss of control, dizziness, and confusion. But there are some good home remedies that cancel out its effect. Let us see them one by one.

Natural remedies to counteract bhang intoxication

1. Sour Foods & Juices

One of the best ways to reverse the effects of bhang is by consuming sour food. To get a person more alert, one can suck a lemon with black salt sprinkled over it. Additionally, supplying freshly squeezed citrus fruits' juice such as orange or lime juice can prove beneficial in reversing the effects of bhang.

2. Tamarind Solution

Tamarind (imli) works very well to counteract bhang intoxication. For making the medicine, boil the tamarind that has been dissolved in water and mix it with jaggery. Drinking the mixture can become of immense help in counteracting the intoxicating effect.

What to do if someone loses consciousness

If someone faints due to an excess of bhang, one may not be able to feed them. In such a case, mustard oil proves useful. Heat some mustard oil and put a few drops in their ears to make them wake up.

Ghee – Quick detoxifier

Ghee is also reputed to be a natural detoxifier. In the event of excessive bhang intoxication, which makes the individual hungover, administering a small amount of pure ghee relieves the hangover soon. Butter may also be substituted for ghee if available.

Foods to avoid after bhang consumption

Sweets must never be offered to a person who is bhang-intoxicated. Sweets extend the time of being intoxicated because sweets enhance the effect of intoxication. Also, headache, nausea, or dizziness medicine cannot be given as it will further aggravate the condition.

Never combine alcohol with bhang

Alcohol and bhang combined are extremely dangerous to use and can cause severe health issues. Avoid alcohol consumption after consuming bhang to prevent side effects.

All these natural remedies and precautions will ensure that your Holi as well as your family members' is wonderful and joyful.
